ORGAN RECITAL

Pavel Svoboda has been put in charge of the Advent organ concert. That means that Christmas will be absolutely OK, because Pavel is a pupil of Jaroslav Tůma and winner of Prague Spring Competition and Bach-Wettbewerb Leipzig. An exceptional musician, a native from Opočno, he is also an experienced dramaturge, as reflected in his program. One organ hit after another, by remarkable composers – long past and contemporary, all French, who enjoyed writing variations on Christmas carols, as we shall hear tonight. Among them is another proud native from Opočno, Luboš Sluka, who in 1951 was taken on as a student by Arthur Honegger himself.
