O SOLE MIO
LA DANZA TARANTELLA NAPOLETANA
MARIA, MARI
NON TI SCORDAR DI ME!
Jiří RAJNIŠ | baritone
Jan BRABEC | mandolin
Ladislav HORÁK | accordion
Eliška HOLÁ, Tomáš HONĚK | guitars
The young baritone Jiří Rajniš, soloist in the renowned Dresden Semperoper, will appear in the FOK concert series for the first time. However, he will not turn up wearing tails and reaching extreme opera registers but will offer the most unsophisticated and most natural singing. In Neapolitan Songs, a unique project for which he has chosen brilliant musical partners, we shall hear well-known Italian folk songs in an authentic arrangement for baritone, two guitars, accordion and mandolin. The audience will witness how a famous song O sole mio can transport them from the sacred space of the St. Agnes Convent to a small, candlelit family trattoria redolent of sea. The famous cry ‘to see (Naples) and die’ can be turned into ‘to hear and enjoy’ tonight.
end of the concert at 8.50 p.m.
