Lise de la SALLE | piano
Lise de la Salle, who will open the season of Piano Recitals, is a lady whose age can still be talked about with ease. Just over thirty, she her CV already has a list of the most renowned venues, orchestras and conductors and she has amassed several awards for her recordings. That may have encouraged her to take some healthy risks with her new recital repertoire. It’s based on, in Lise’s opinion, the two most important components of music: rhythm reflecting the heartbeat, and movement without which there would be no life. The programme celebrates composers who use dance rhythms. For example, did you know that Igor Stravinsky wrote a Tango? Lise included one of Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances in her repertoire especially for Prague, which fits perfectly in the section dedicated to ‘the Slavonic soul’. All that there’s left to do for Lise is to ask the audience: “Would you dance with me?”
The concert is held in collaboration with the French Institute in Prague.
