L’ARPEGGIATA – MEDITERRANEO

The legendary L’Arpeggiata, with its artistic leader, the theorbist Christina Pluhar, is coming to Prague for the first time. As the most competent ensemble for the occasion, they will open this year’s Early Music series. L’Arpeggiata is an ensemble that, with its activities, fundamentally influences the direction for the whole scene of early music. This also fully applies to their project Mediterraneo with which they have been touring the world. It combines music from Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey and Macedonia in an original way. Apart from being a virtuoso, Christina Pluhar, a native from Graz, has a great talent for choosing her collaborators. This is confirmed in the group by the presence of renowned singers and a famous dancer, as well as the leading player on cornett, Doron Sherwin, guitarist Josep Duran, percussionist Sergey Saprychev and harpsichordist Francesco Turrisi.
