JULIE SVĚCENÁ – VIOLIN RECITAL

Since winning the International Radio Competition ‘Concertino Praga’ in 2010, Julie Svěcená has been performing extensively throughout Europe, Asia and North America.

As soloist, Ms Svěcená has performed with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, The Prague Symphony Orchestra, Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Academy Symphony Orchestra, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, Quattro, Virtuosi Pragenses, and Musica Cassovia chamber orchestras, amongst others.

Prizewinner of numerous competitions such as Tibor Varga International Violin Competition, Concertino Praga International Radio Competition, Jaroslav Kocian International Violin Competition or the International Georg Philipp Telemann Violin Competition.

She has performed at festivals such as the Prague Spring International Music Festival (CZ), the Sion Festival (CH), Residart Festival (IT), the Cambridge International String Academy (UK), Zakhar Bron Academy (CH), Tokyo Stradivarius Festival (JP) or Czech Touches of Music (CZ).

Ms Svěcená’s musical collaborations include prestigious artists such as Trevor Pinnock, Gabor Takács-Nagy, Günter Neuhold, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Rohan de Silva or Ulrich Koella, then as a concertmaster with Semyon Bychkov and Sir Mark Elder.

Her orchestra experiences include the London Symphony Orchestra and English Chamber Orchestra. In 2013, Julie graduated from the Prague Conservatoire under the guidance of the renowned Czech pedagogue and chamber musician Dana Vlachová. She continued her studies in London, graduating with a Master of Arts degree and Advanced Diploma from the Royal Academy of Music, in the class of Mr. Rodney Friend, MBE.
