JAN DOLEŽEL – ORGAN RECITAL

Just before New Year's Eve, the Czech player Jan Doležel will display his organ skills for the first time in the Smetana Hall. Since 2012 he has been teaching organ at the Würzburg University of Music and since 2018 at the University of Erlangen. Of course, he continues to carry in himself, cultivate, and pass on Czech music, as reflected in this programme presented on the threshold of the Year of Czech Music. According to Jan Doležel, no other organ music exudes such a typically Czech tone, in the case of Klička a Smetana note, in the case of Novák, a Dvořák tone. All three works are as if made for the organ of the hall, which with up to 400 different sound combinations is bursting with colour.
