GRAINDELAVOIX & GESUALDO

A grain or a kernel of the voice. That is the translation of the name of the Graindelavoix ensemble. Once you hear this ensemble, you’ll understand completely. Unlike conventional ensembles of early music that strive for the most unified ensemble sound, the Graindelavoix singers find a refreshing balance between the sound of individual distinctive voice timbres and a unified sound. As the ensemble leader, Björn Schmelzer himself points out: “We are not a vocal entity, we are an artistic ensemble”. There is no need to comment further. You just have to hear the celebrated Graindelavoix.
