GENTLEMEN SINGERS

There is nothing more acoustically fitting for the church of Saints Simon and Jude as an unaccompanied vocal ensemble. That’s why, after a short break, for the most sacred time of the year we have invited the vocal ensemble Gentlemen Singers; the only Czech professional male octet, led since 2003 by the bass Richard Uhlíř. Gentlemen have several beautiful recordings to their name; for St. Stephen’s Day, a collection of Czech, English, Danish, Polish and German carols under the title O nata Lux (O Light Born) is most appropriate. Gentlemen are a modern team and also sing contemporary spiritual compositions by Morten Lauridsen and John Tavener; Petr Wajsar arranged the traditional Czech carol Nesem vám noviny for them.
