Great pianists are coming back! That could be the subtitle of the Piano Recital series in the 2019/2020 season. It will be inaugurated in October by a remarkable lady, the unique Elisabeth Leonskaja. A star, who in the 1960s bewitched the jurors of prestigious piano competitions, including Aram Khachaturian and Arthur Rubinstein. These competition successes elevated her onto the concert stage, from which her playing would amaze wide audiences as she has been doing so for over fifty years with unceasing enthusiasm, still travelling around the world. She’s about to release a new CD in the autumn of 2019. All we have to do is thank her and fate, for coming back to us and joining with enthusiasm, first our Chamber series and later, in 2020, the orchestra.
