Antti SIIRALA | piano
PRAGUE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
Pietari INKINEN | conductor
This concert with a Finnish cast should have taken place in March 2019, but it had to be cancelled as the Smetana Hall had suddenly closed. Luckily, both artists managed to find a date in their overflowing diaries and now, a year and half later, they are coming with a similar repertoire. The two composers Beethoven & Bruckner remain on the programme, for several seasons the pair have been meeting under the baton of Pietari Inkinen, each time with a different pianist. Antti Siirala will take on the beautiful task of performing the most famous of Beethoven’s piano concerti, the ‘Emperor’, dedicated to the Archduke Rudolph, later Archbishop of Olomouc. Bruckner’s Symphony No. 4 in the same key of E flat Major will follow the interval.
The concert is held under the auspices of H.E. Jukka Pesola, Ambassador of Finland in the Czech Republic.
