The phenomenal Polish pianist Piotr Anderszewski is a rare type of artist. Modest, quiet, introverted. Forever searching, like a composer repeatedly going back to what already seems perfect. In March 2016, this world traveller interrupted his career to enthusiastically start a new search. The work that has attracted his attention over many years are the Diabelli Variations of which he has made several recordings. It is probably their variational principal that inspires him to see repeatedly things from new angles. Bach’s Well Tempered Klavier and Webern’s Variations equally suit Anderszewski’s ability to immerse deeply into a piece of music.
