PRAGUE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
Martin KUMŽÁK | conductor
The FOK cannot ignore the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution. Not least because in November 1989 the first ever meeting between the then Communist government and the Civic Forum led by Václav Havel took place in the Municipal House. To mark this occasion, the orchestra has prepared, in collaboration with their longstanding member, the double-bass player Lukáš Verner, a project combining various musical genres, from soul, through jazz, funk and world music. He will share the stage with the excellent group minus123minut. The band consists of a trio of respected musicians led by Zdeněk Bína. Martin Kumžák’s arrangements are able to combine rather diverse genres; he is someone who has already witnessed a lot with the FOK, but, it seems, not yet everything.
