In 2020, we shall commemorate not only Beethoven, but also the 150-birth anniversary of Vítězslav Novák, a composer, pianist and mountaineer. Out of his love for the mountains a passionate program poem, In the Tatra Mountains, was born. The Tatra Mountains are also the subject of admiration for the conductor Antoni Wit, born in Krákow, who has collaborated, in addition to all the leading Polish orchestras, with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. As a former student of Nadia Boulanger and Krzysztof Penderecki, he is also an enthusiastic champion of modern music, in particular of Polish origin. One of its treasures is the Concerto for Orchestra by Witold Lutosławski. On his musical journeys Maestro Wit has also met the Czech virtuoso Lukáš Vondráček. Together with the FOK Orchestra they will explore the depth of Frédéric Chopin’s soul.
