You would be hard pressed to find another Iva Bittová in the world. Her way of expressing herself musically is essentially her own. Uninhibited by conventions, utterly authentic. Original. Instantly recognizable. The source of her music seems to spring directly from her roots. Wild and impetuous, yet clear and fragile, like a mountain spring. Iva's refreshing and life-affirming voice has an almost infinite range of colours and expressive registers. She manages to be truthful in each of them. The February concert is based on the 2015 CD Slovenské spevy (Slovak Songs). We will, indeed, stay in Slovakia most of the time, except for Leoš Janáček, who takes us to Moravia.
The concert is supported by the Slovak Institute in Prague.
