In February 2020 the five-year project Beethoven & Bruckner, conceived by the chief conductor, and presenting Beethoven piano concertos alongside Bruckner symphonies, will reach one of its pinnacles. After all, in 2020 not only the musical, but also the whole world, will mark the 250th birth anniversary of the Bonn genius. Therefore, we have included Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto on the program and invited Elisabeth Leonskaja to play it. The last time the FOK Orchestra met her was in 1998 during a tour in Germany led by Jiří Bělohlávek. The Princess of piano has previously also met Pietari Inkinen, playing this very Concerto. The expressive, beautiful, unique Bruckner Symphony No. 6 will provide the symphonic counterpart.
