Nothing beats good friends! That is why Petr Altrichter, who has been a regular collaborator with the FOK since 1987, will pay us a visit and stand on the podium. Even earlier, in 1985, Liběna Séquardtová became Principal Oboe, a position she still holds; hence, we’ll mark a jubilee. Jaroslav Krček is also firmly bound with the FOK, not only with his compositions, but also with his legendary ensemble Musica Bohemica which was part of FOK for a long time. Finally, there are a couple of friends - Antonín Dvořák and Johannes Brahms. Dvořák’s words on the Viennese performance of his Symphonic Variations on December 4th, 1887 say it all: “As Brahms has said, no other of my compositions have made such an impact as the Variations. They were played beautifully, and the audience’s reaction was lavish and loud in appreciation. Brahms gave me a beautiful cigar holder for the Variations.”
