PYOTR ILYICH TCHAIKOVSKY Violin Concerto in D major Op. 35
SERGEI RACHMANINOFF Symphonic Dances Op. 45
Jan MRÁČEK | violin
PRAGUE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
Vladimir FEDOSEYEV | conductor
On April 20th, 2017 a memorable concert took place in Zurich. The large Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra was conducted by its legendary chief conductor (since 1974), Vladimir Fedoseyev, with the violinist Jan Mráček as soloist. This was love at first hearing, also because together they could play around with Fedoseyev’s native Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto. And as in sport, there is a rule in music not to change a winning team, so for the first time in the orchestra’s history we invite this world-renowned conductor and former chief conductor of the Vienna Philharmonic to Prague. There is even a small planet named after him, and if Jan Mráček continues in the current trend, his career will also be stellar.
