Pavel Černý

He studied organ at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague under Jaroslav Tůma and deepened his education with tuition from many outstanding European musicians. While still a student he attracted attention by winning the 1^st Prize in the National Organ Competition in Opava and particularly the 1^st prizes at the international competitions in Lyublyana (Slovenia) in 1993 and the Prague Spring Competition in 1994. Since 1991 his concert appearances have been extensive. Although specialising in historical instruments he plays the music of all style epochs. He is the organist at the Church of St. Ludmila in Prague and is also the organ consultant for the Archdiocese of Prague.
