PRAGUE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

The Prague Symphony Orchestra is a leading Czech music ensemble that has been enriching the concert life of the Czech capital and representing Czech culture at the highest level abroad for more than 70 years. The acronym FOK symbolises its triple orientation in the first years of its life (Film – Opera – Concert).
From the 2006/2007 concert season on, Jiří Kout has been holding the position of Chief Conductor of the Orchestra.

Smetana´s My Country - the new recording of PSO
The Prague Symphony Orchestra has just started to release the new own label. The first CD is live recording of Bedřich Smetana´s My Country (Má vlast), which was played on the Concert for the Republic on the 28th of October last year with conductor Tomáš Netopil. You can get the CD already at the PSO box office (Mo-Fri :10am-6pm) for very convenient prize: CZK 129,-. Detail of the CD you can find here.

You can solve the problem by giving them a gift voucher!
In our advance booking office you can purchase gift vouchers for tickets.
You just choose the value of the voucher (200, 400, 500 or 1200 CZK) and the recipient can then choose a concert.
A gift voucher can only be used one, to pay for a ticket of the same or higher price. If the ticket costs more than the value of the voucher, the voucher-holder has to pay the difference in price.
Print out your PSO tickets at home!
buy them direct through our web pages (click on the shopping basket by the chosen concert, or direct at the server https://vstupenky.fok.cz/), and after paying by credit or charge card you can print out the ticket at home or work. These e-tickets with a bar code will be checked by ushers equipped with electronic reader as you enter the concert hall.
Jiří Kout has been honoured with a state decoration of the Czech Republic
On the 28th of October 2007, on the 89th anniversary of the establishment of Czechoslovakia, Jiří Kout received a medal for services to the state in the field of culture and art from the president of the Czech Republic Václav Klaus.
Ministry of Culture Prize for Principal Conductor Jiří Kout
The principal conductor of the PSO Jiří Kout has received the Ministry of Culture Prize for contributions in the field of music for the year 2007. The prize was presented to him by the minister of culture Václav Jehlička at a gala evening on Tuesday the 23rd of October at 6.00 p.m. in the Czech Museum of Music in the Lesser Town.
